The Vubwi District is made up of one constituency and is amongst the youngest Districts in the country having been created in 2012 as a breakaway from Chadiza District. Aproximately 58km away from Chipata, the district population now stands at 53,080 (CSO 2022) out of which 26,448 are males and 26,632 are females. Predominantly an agricultural zone, Vubwi contributes significantly to the production of maize and soya beans in the country as it boasts of fertile soils and good rainfall.
